  as has been mentioned, jws on social media seem to go overboard for the whole sibling day bandwagon, like they're so thrilled to participate in a holiday of sorts that hasn't yet been explicitly forbid that it's pathetic.

  so, it's okay to honor your brother and sister on a certain day, but it's wrong and pagan to honor your father and mother on a certain day, something that the bible specifically says to do?

  has anybody ever called them out on this, or seen someone else do it?

So, it's okay to honor your brother and sister on a certain day, but it's wrong and pagan to honor your father and mother on a certain day, something that the Bible specifically says to do? Has anybody ever called them out on this, or seen someone else do it? I did see one JW preach to his friends about it in the comments (he's already known to be very self-righteous, attention-seeking and opinionated, so no real surprise for him) but no one really engaged with him. That was last year, and this year seemed to be even more intense. Wonder when the questions from readers or local needs will come out 🙄

  Ditto what Tenacious said. I can see from what the Bible says that there is no specific night/time requirement, but I do take 'sacrement' if you will annually, privately. As I'm PIMO and need to attend the Memorial, I do have to pass the bread and wine, but I will say a prayer while doing so. It's under duress. Similar to how Naaman had to help his master bow down at his idol because it was his job, but in his heart he wasn't for it.

  Holy Spirit - Present or Gone in the Congregations?

  i was doing some reminiscing and remember the days back in the late 80s and early 90s where i truly could say the meetings were so encouraging and that i felt the holy spirit present and operating on all of us.

  today when i attend, there is nothing of the sort.

  is it because jehovah has withheld it?

  Actually, the 90s were a low point for the organization in a lot of ways. They could no longer charge money for literature due to a court decision, funds were drying up, the move to softcover books was initiated, there was no slick media like today, even the quality media they had like the org video and convention dramas took a nosedive in production value over that decade, and probably most important, one of the biggest teachings they had for decades, "this generation", had to be changed out of necessity. Only those so far in they couldn't see the forest for the trees wouldn't notice.

In These Last Days, we should expect The Slave will provide more nuanced teaching aids such as this.
